July Athlete of the Month – Tranise Jackson

Tranise has been a member at CFRR for a little over a year and since day 1 has been consistent with workouts and has fun along the way! She hammers through workouts without a complaint and always pushes herself in a healthy way!

She make think she flies under the radar but the gains this girl has made have been more than noticeable! She is down 40lbs from when she started! Check out her Athlete of the Month interview to hear her “why”.

Cheers to Tranise!

1) What was a misconception you had about CrossFit?

I had some knowledge of Crossfit but I thought it was mostly Olympic weight lifting and training

2) What motivates you?

The two things that currently motivate me are 1) Members in my family tend to not live very long due to various illnesses so I am determined to beat those odds; remain healthy; and break the generational curse…Secondly, my son motivates me.  He is super athletic and into sports; so I want to be his role model and lead by example with his goals.

3) What are your training goals?
I would love to be able to do 10 pull ups/ 10 muscle ups by the end of the year.  Maybe I can squeeze in burpee pull ups into 2024 goals 🙂

4) What’s a moment you felt very proud of yourself in a workout?

I am proud to be able to finish the workout rounds or times (sometimes :-))  I have gotten a lot better with completion

5) What advice would you give someone that’s thinking about joining CrossFit?
I would say do it!  Don’t think twice about it.  Invest in yourself.  It will be well worth it.  I’m living proof

6)  How has CrossFit changed your life outside of the gym?

I definitely feel better overall.  I’ve gained strength and have lots more energy to do things throughout the day

7) What’s your favorite part about the community here?

My Favorite part is hands down is the people.  I’ve met some really cool people whom I hope to hang with perhaps outside of the gym.
