REBORN Success Stories: Ashley Transom

About a year before joining CrossFit Round Rock, I was just lifting weights at a friend’s house on the weekends. My friend taught me the proper form and gave me a lot of other guidance. As the endorphins started to kick in, I knew I needed more of that in my life. My friend had joined CFRR, so I followed suit.

I was a little hesitant at first, because I’m very much an introvert and wasn’t all that comfortable at the thought of being around a lot of new people. But once I got in there, I got what I didn’t know I needed – community. I’ve met so many awesome people that have become my friends.

After I finished Fundamentals, I joined the 7PM class with Coach Sam, whom I adore, and I’ve done so many things I never thought I could! I’ve gotten stronger and improved my range of motion to the point where I can do full squats and can deadlift 265 pounds. Most recently, I can do half wall walks and RX burpees.


Once I got established with the workouts, I started working on my nutrition with Coach Adrian, whom I also adore! I come from a background of yo-yo dieting, by starving myself and then gaining back twice what I lost. I also have the challenges of hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s disease, but Adrien has taught me the right way to eat, as well as what is actually healthy, and I never counted one calorie. She helped me to lose 21.25 inches and 30 pounds. I’m still traveling down this road, but it’s not as daunting as it once was now that I have the right knowledge from Adrien.

I am so thankful that I stepped out of my comfort zone and joined CFRR! I’m in it for the long haul!
