March Athlete of the Month – Angie Bouvier

Angie walked into CFRR 2 years ago and the light she has brought to the gym hasn’t faded since! She is part of the 7pm Wonders of the World crew & we couldn’t hold that title without her there. Every day she shows up & impresses us with how she conquers the class. Not just the workout but the entire class. She listens to her coach, breaks down the workout, figures out the weight & skill level that will give her the best workout, and does all this while checking on every single classmate and getting to know them a little bit more.

Cheers to you girl! You deserve this so much. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you and we are even more excited to be a part of it. We love you! Keep scrolling to get to know Angie a little bit more.

1. What is your biggest motivation?

My biggest motivation is to live a healthy fit lifestyle with intentions to be able to enjoy life alongside the ones I care about the most. My loving husband plays a huge role as my support system. He pushes me to be my best self even through my toughest days. Be that as it may, I long for the day for which my prayers will be answered; to aspire to be a healthy strong CrossFit momma! I am confident that staying active and eating healthy is a giant step in the right direction.
2. Your favorite quote or words to live by?
“If you fail, never give up because F.A.I.L. means “First Attempt In Learning” – End is not the end, in fact E.N.D. means “Effort Never Dies” – If you get no as an answer, remember N.O. means “Next Opportunity”.    -Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
3. What is your current training goals/PRs?
My primary goal is consistency: maintaining a good consistency in my workouts at CFRR for total progression! Just Show Up and Kick A$$!! Needless to say, some non-assisted pull ups would be extraordinary some day!
4. Take us back to your first day of CrossFit… How did you feel? How do you compare it to workouts today?
My first day of CrossFit was everything!! Exciting, Nauseating, Adrenaline-Filled, and Loads of Fun! As for the after math, soreness at the upmost highest level; in places of the body I never knew muscles existed. Although the soreness has gone a few notches down, I can’t say much has changed. The same feelings are still there at almost every workout at CFRR and I wouldn’t have it any other way!!
5. What advice do you have for new athletes just starting out in CrossFit?
My advice to new CF members is don’t compare yourself to others, compare yourself to the person from yesterday! Showing up is half the battle! It’s progress not perfection and more importantly like Coach Adrien says, “Listen to your body!”
6. Tell us about a moment you felt most proud of yourself during a workout?
I can’t particularly pinpoint a workout in which I remember but I am proud of myself for being able to push around more weight, beat previous PRs, and not be afraid to try new things.
7. What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit?
I’m a big music junkie ~all types of good music~=definitely a concert-go-er! I love to laugh, jam out, quote movie lines, cook, explore the outdoors, check out baseball games, and not take things too seriously! I also enjoy traveling with my husband, spending time with family and friends and of-course the best weenie dog on earth my fur child: Squints! Life’s too short to not enjoy it.
8. What’s your favorite part of CrossFit Round Rock?
My favorite part of CFRR is definitely the coaches and group of amazing people here. I feel like every single one of my coaches has made a significant difference in my life; if not for a sweet text message to check up on me and life, just a quick hello hug and a smile around the box. Love them!! Especially the ones that allow me to poke fun at them aka Coach Sam and Coach Landon!! LOL it’s a brotherly/sisterly type of love that I’ve had at no other box!
9. If you could create a WOD and name it for yourself, what would it be?
Stay tuned…brewing a good one.
10. How has your diet changed since starting CrossFit (if it has), and what foods do you rely on most?
I definitely have learned to prioritize vegetables at every single meal. I’ve adapted to a low carb lifestyle that has helped me both in and out of the box and I feel awesome!
